Terms of Service
Effective: 26 May 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Identivera (the “Service”), operated by us. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. Read them carefully.
1. The Service
Identivera is a two-sided marketplace connecting verified UK university students with employers. Students use the Service free of charge to build an AI-assisted profile and CV, discover opportunities, and approve specific employer connections. Employers use the Service on a paid subscription to publish skill pathways and request connections to consenting students.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. Identivera is an adults-only platform; signup requires explicit confirmation of age.
- To register as a student, you must be enrolled or about to be enrolled at a UK university or higher-education institution.
- To register as an employer, you must be authorised to act on behalf of a legitimate organisation that hires graduates or interns in the UK.
- We reserve the right to refuse, suspend, or terminate any account that misrepresents its eligibility.
3. Your account
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide.
- You may not share your account or sign-in link with anyone else.
- We use magic-link authentication: anyone with access to your email inbox during the 15-minute link validity window can sign in as you. Protect your inbox accordingly.
- Each successful sign-in invalidates any previous session — only one active session is permitted per account.
4. Acceptable use
You agree NOT to:
- Submit false, misleading, or fabricated information about your education, skills, or experience.
- Impersonate another person or organisation.
- Upload right-to-work documents that are not your own or that have been altered.
- Scrape, crawl, or otherwise bulk-extract data from the Service.
- Reverse-engineer, probe, or attempt to circumvent the Service's security controls beyond responsible disclosure.
- Use the Service in any way that breaches UK law or facilitates a breach of UK law.
- Use Vera (our AI assistant) to generate content you intend to pass off as your own when applying to employers — it is a drafting aid; the final words must be your own.
- Send unsolicited messages or promotional content to other users via any channel exposed by the Service.
5. Student consent and connections
- Employers cannot view your full profile, CV, or contact details unless you explicitly approve their connection request.
- You may approve, decline, or revoke any employer's connection at any time. Revocation takes effect immediately.
- If an employer contacts you outside the Service, that contact is governed by their own privacy practices, not ours. We are not responsible for off-platform communications.
6. Employer obligations
- You must use student data only to evaluate the student for legitimate employment opportunities.
- You must not retain student data after a student revokes their connection.
- You must not transfer student data to any third party without the student's explicit consent.
- You are responsible for compliance with UK employment law, equality law, and your own data-protection obligations.
- Subscription terms and pricing are described on our Pricing page (when published) and confirmed at checkout via Stripe.
7. AI-generated content
Vera, our AI assistant, generates draft CVs, cover letters, and application content using your own words and experiences as input. The system prompt prohibits fabrication. However:
- You are responsible for reviewing every AI-generated output before submitting it to an employer.
- You retain ownership of the content you provide; we retain no rights over your outputs.
- We do not guarantee that AI-generated content will lead to interviews, offers, or any other outcome.
- AI providers used to power Vera are listed in our Privacy Policy. They do not use your data to train their models under our agreement.
- Vera voice is optional. Your microphone starts only when you explicitly start a call. Identivera does not store raw audio by default, and Vera must ask before saving profile facts from a voice conversation.
- Vera is not a mental-health, legal, immigration, academic-supervision, or emergency-support service.
8. Service availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Maintenance windows, third-party service outages (hosting, email, AI providers, payment processors), and security incidents may cause temporary unavailability. Where we plan downtime, we'll give reasonable notice in-product.
9. Termination
- You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. We delete your data within 30 days, subject to retention obligations described in our Privacy Policy.
- We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, with notice where reasonably possible.
- For employers, paid subscriptions may be cancelled following Stripe's standard cancellation flow. Refunds are at our discretion and follow the rules described at checkout.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by UK law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of opportunity, lost interview/offer outcomes, or career-related decisions you make based on the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for matters that cannot be excluded under English law (including death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation).
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted to you in-product, and continued use after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
